HYRUM, UTAH: Glenn Coombs Covert, 83, passed away on August 2, 2012 at the McKay-Dee Medical Center in Ogden, Utah died to complications from leukemia. Glenn was born on October 21, 1928 in Logan, Utah to Thomas Abner and Emily Coombs Covert. Glenn grew up in Logan and graduated from Logan High School in 1946. He attended USU. He then met and fell in love with Elaine Hansen. They were married on December 9, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, on the day of the first and worst blizzard of the year. The entire wedding party was snowed in at a friends' house after the wedding reception in Logan until the next day. It was a day that truly lives in infamy in our family. Glenn and his eternal sweetheart Elaine were blessed with seven children.
Glenn was a skillful and dependable auto mechanic. He owned and operated CAR Service, first in Hyrum and later in Paradise, Utah for almost 40 years. Glenn was loved and trusted by his customers, many of whom also became his long -time friends.
Glenn was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Counselor in a Bishopric, Ward Clerk, Financial Clerk, High Priest Group Leader and Home Teacher. His testimony of the gospel and his Savior were the core of his life and guided him in all his actions. He was the very best kind of husband and father. And his wife, children and grandchildren adored him. Glenn loved his wife and family and they loved him. He was a kind, gentle man. All of his children knew that they were his favorite. And they all were.
