On January 1, 1947, Glenn was united in marriage to Anna Ruth Cooley and eight children were born to bless this union: Eugene, Linda, Judy, Earl, Irene, Wayne, Joyce and Lyle.
Glenn farmed both livestock and row crop since the age of fifteen. He purchased the first farm in Carl Township and actively farmed until 2012. Glenn lived all but two years in Adams County.
Glenn's passion in life was natural preservation and land improvement. He was always maintaining the native flowers and habitat.

Cooley, Sr. and three mothers-in-law: Ruth J., Mattie J. and Bertha I. Cooley.
