Mrs. Lula Atteliah Crews Strickland, 83, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, in the Baptist Village, Waycross, GA, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Strickland was born March 8, 1935, in Nassau County, FL to the late John Samuel Crews and Selma Estell Bradley Crews. She had worked for J.C. Penny’s in Waycross and was a member of the Shiloh Church, Church Choir and Prayer Band. For many years she was a member of the Joyful Sound Singing Group, spreading the message of God in song. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Genie Sowell, Rachel Gilliard and Peggy Foster; four brothers: John Crews, Sam Crews, Roger Crews and James Crews.

Survivors are one sister: Voncile Ryles, Callahan, FL; one brother: W. Woody Crews, Waycross, GA; two sisters-in-law: Erma Cox and Bessie Strickland, both of Homerville; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorial services for Mrs. Strickland will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at two o’clock at the Shiloh Church.

Interment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 1 till 2 p.m. at Shiloh Church.
