Ancel A. Arden, 83, of 2200 W. Seventh Ave., died Tuesday, June 3, 1997.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul United Methodist Church, Amarillo with the Rev. Dean Wynn, associate minister at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, Amarillo, Tx., officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street.

Mr. Arden moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1929 from Seymour, Texas. He married Floy White in 1935 at Amarillo, Tx.. She died in 1985.

He retired from Furr's Food Inc. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Amarillo.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Horton of Woodland and Pam Siler of Mebane, N.C.; two sons, Jerry Arden of San Francisco and Glenn Arden of Dallas, Tx.; three sisters, Alice Ruth Purcell and Camille Arden, both of Amarillo, and Lois Allred of Wildorado, Tx.; two brothers, Dudley Arden and Wilson Arden, both of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren

The family requests memorials be to St. Paul United Methodist Church Pipe Organ Fund.The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
