Charlie Bell Whipp, 82 of Opelousas, died February 9, 1953 at 7:40 a.m.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Susie Whipp; five sons, Henry L. Whipp of Opelousas, Leo Whipp of Port Arthur, Texas, Ivy Whipp of Lawtell, Dena Whipp of Orange, Texas, Douglas Whipp with the Navy in San Diego, California; two daugthers, Mrs. Leillia Cobb and Mrs. Kirby Poindexter, both of Beaumont, Texas.

He was preceded in death by another son, State Representative Clarence Whipp.

Also surviving are two half-brothers, Bud and Lewis McGraw of Alexandria; three half-sisters, Mrs. Lily Paul of CenterPoint, Mrs. Lizzie Gates of Madga and Mrs. Annie Sayes of Shreveport; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services was at the First Methodist church in Opelousas at 2 p.m. February 10, 1953. Interment was in Myrtle Grove Cemetery under the direction of Lafond and Son Funeral Home.
