Dorothy Dawn Hatch Lundgreen passed away July 28, 2012 in South Jordan, Utah. She was born October 14, 1928 in Logan, Utah to Shiblon Gregory and Denise Parkinson Hatch. Dorothy attended school in Preston, Idaho, the University of Oregon, and Utah State University. She married Ralph Coleman Lundgreen April 13, 1957; the marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland, CA LDS temple. Together they raised two daughters, Lori and Dawn.
Dorothy was a teacher, like her husband, and taught kindergarten and first grade in Las Vegas, NV. She loved to do crossword puzzles and take walks with Ralph. She also loved chocolate creamies. She was an excellent caregiver, caring for her daughter Dawn for many years until Dawn's passing in November 2004.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Lori (Flint) Brown, and three grandsons: Alan Orantes, Jeremy and Colin Bench; also a brother, Larry E. Hatch. Preceded in death by her husband Ralph and daughter Dawn; parents, brother Shiblon, Jr., and sister Marilyn Jaacks.
A viewing will be held Friday August 3, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 S). Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 4, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Country Park 8th Ward Chapel 1988 W. 11400 South, South Jordan, Utah. Friends and family may also visit from 10-10:45 am in the Relief Society room.
