Funeral services for David P. Vance, 56, will be held in Ebenezer, Kentucky.

Born Dec. 9, 1947, in Drakesboro, Kentucky, he died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at his home, after an extensive battle with cancer. Burial will be in Ebenezer.

David was a 25 year employee of Continental Datalabel Co. of Elgin. He served in the Marine Corps and was a Vietnam War veteran. He was a social member of the Tri- Cities Evergreen V.F.W. Post @#2298 in West Dundee. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church, Chicago.

David was a very active member of the Carpentersville L.O.O.M. @#1958. He served on the Ritual Team and received the Moose Man of the Year award multiple times.

He is survived by his parents, Damon and Marie (nee Hunt) Vance of Carpentersville; his brother, John (Ruby) Vance of Belvidere; his sisters, Carol (Dan) Chapman of Carpentersville, Judy (Rich) Filip of Crystal Lake and Robin (Mark) Kolmodin of Homer Glen, Illinois; his uncle, Bob Hunt of Beechmont; his aunt, Betty Hunt of Beechcreek, Kentucky; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Vance; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Hunt; and by his brother, Roger Dale Vance.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to Loyola University Medical Center Cancer Research Center.
