JOHN M. COOPER DIES

John M. Cooper, aged 55 years, died at a hospital in Hayes, Kans., January 20, the result of injuries received in a gas explosion December 13 while he was engaged in thawing out a water line for the Gulf Oil Refining Company by whom he was employed.
Mr. Cooper was born March 11, 1895, the son of Carroll and Bell Cooper, the former deceased, early settlers of the Archey community west of Clinton. On December 20, he was united in marriage to Miss Blanche Jenkins daughter of the late D. L. Jenkins and sister of our Rev. Claud Jenkins. To their union three children were born.
Besides his wife and three children he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Bell Cooper, who makes her home with a daughter.
Mr. Cooper had been a member of the Missionary Baptist church for 27 years and his chief concern in life was to be faithful to Christ. Funeral service was held at the Baptist church in Clinton Tuesday afternoon by Rev T. W. Hayes of Conway. Burial was in the Salem cemetery near Rockyhill.
