Alfred J. Urbish, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Penelope, Texas. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired painter for the state government, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

He is survived by one daughter, Jeannette Cooper of Las Vegas; one son, Glenn Urbish of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Gertrude Voboda of Marietta, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday with a 6 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
