She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, K.D. Hestes, and by her parents, a brother and sister.
She is survived by her only son, Rocky D. Hestes, of Little Rock; grandson, Kyle Hestes and his wife, Ana, and two beautiful great-granddaughters, Hazel Grace and Carmen Rae Hestes, all of North Little Rock.
Wanda graduated high school in Roscoe, Texas and was selected most popular in her senior class. She was also a very accomplished athlete, excelling in basketball and volleyball. Following an initial career in nursing, she became a stay at home mom and housewife as the family moved often as her husband moved up the ranks in the railroad industry.
Wanda and K.D. lived a truly wonderful life and went on 38 cruises during their marriage, often joined by friends and family.
She was a truly wonderful, loving, and devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. As with her husband, she will be thought of daily and incredibly missed and loved forever. Farewell until we see you again.
