ALBERT L. KAHN June 12, 1918 - June 9, 2007 Albert Kahn of Boynton Beach, FL, and formerly of Pittsburgh (Bethel Park), PA, passed away on June 9, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Teresa Haber, and children Deborah (Delray Beach, FL), Matthew (Boynton Beach, FL), Mark (Delray Beach, FL), Mary Favaro (Seattle, WA), Peter (Phoenix, AZ), and Joseph (Vienna, Austria), sons/daughters -in-law Paul, Lynne, T.J., Donna and Leanne, thirteen grandchildren and two brothers, Frank and William. Albert graduated from Brentwood High School in 1935 and from Penn State University in 1940 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers from 1940-1948, and in World War II served in both Europe and the Pacific. He participated in the D-Day Invasion as well as the Battle of the Bulge. He was discharged in 1948 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Albert worked for the US Steel Corporation from 1949-1980 at the Clairton Works. Following retirement, he performed volunteer work at St. Clair Hospital in Upper St. Clair, PA. In 1986, Albert and Teresa moved to Boynton Beach, FL, where he continued his volunteer work at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach. Albert sang in church choirs for 55 years, including the Baldwin Community United Methodist Church in Whitehall, PA, and the First United Methodist Church in Boynton Beach. He loved cheering for the Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions and enjoyed playing bridge and "500." He was always surrounded by loving family and friends, and he will be greatly missed.
