Alta Dukes, of Denver, Dies at Peru Hospital PERU. Ind.-Mrs. Alta Dukes, 81, of Denver, passed away at Dukes hospital here at 2:15 a.m. Sunday of complications from a fractured hip suffered last fall. A native of Perry township, Miami county, she was born Nov. 21, 1872, to James and Annie (Carlisle) Wildman, and was married Dec. 29, 1893, to Lando Cade Dukes, who preceded her in death. A lifetime resident of the Denver community, she was a member of the Methodist church and the study club there, and was a member of the Gilead Eastern Star. The body was removed to the Brookman funeral home and will be returned at 4 p.m. today to the late residence, where friends may call. Last rites will be held at the residence at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. M. C. Morrow officiating, and burial will be in Westlawn cemetery, Denver.
