NELLE CAMP DICKSON was the daughter of Dr William R. Camp, a long time physician in Fayette and Campbell/Fulton counties. (1868-1948)
It was in memory of his beloved grandfather, that Nelle's son, Pope Dickson (Dickson Funeral Home) of Jonesboro established Camp Memorial Park in the 1960s. Dr Camp was buried in the Fairburn City Cemetery and he was also the father of Crystal Camp Hodges....my grandmother. Nelle and Lester were my aunt and uncle and I remember well many boyhood visits to their big home on Jeff Davis Drive in the 1950s-60s.
