Mrs. Susanna Hall, wife of Samuel S. Hall, succumbed Friday, September 29, at 11:20 pm, in the Sidney hospital, after a short illness. Mrs. Hall was born December 19, 1874, at Sidney Center, daughter of the late T. Haywood and Ellen Knapp. She taught a few years in country schools after attending Delaware Literary Institute, Franklin. Her marriage to Mr. Hall took place at her parents' home, Leonta, December 10, 1895, and the couple began housekeeping on a farm in the Blue schoolhouse district, Masonville. In 1913, Mr. and Mrs. Hall came to Unadilla to live where they have resided since except for a few years spent near Oneonta. Mrs. hall was a member of the Unadilla Methodist church and a woman devoted to her family. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in the Joyce Funeral home, with Rev. Clayton Hoag, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was made in Evergreen Hill cemetery here. The bearers were Walter Davis, Louis Tryon, William Orton and Howard McIntosh. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Carrie Jackson, Wells Bridge, and Miss Emma and Willard Knapp, East Wallingford, Vt.; four daughters, Mrs. George H. Nichols, Unadilla, Mrs. Clarence Delameter, Treadwell, Mrs. James Gloeckler, Sidney, and Miss Emma Hall, at home; four grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
