Daughter of the late Jesse and Elizabeth Barr Dixon, she lived most of her life in Vanceboro, NC. She was a member of Chapman's United Methodist Church, and after retiring by Belk Tyler in 1977, she spent time at the church making quilts. She was preceded in death by parents; a granddaughter; two brothers; and by two sisters. She was survived by daughters, Lucille Tripp and Carol Gaskins (Bobby); sons, Franklin Delano Barrow (Joan), Millard "Woody" Barrow, Jr. (Lisa) and Charlie Cleveland Barrow (Barbara); 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Hoddges, Betty Ruth Hodges, Eva Perry and Zelda Cribb; brother, Elbert Dixon; and an extended family of relatives. Her funeral was officiated by The Rev. Bill Price.
