Julia Rose Bower daughter of Benjamin Bower and Anna Elcibin Horst, his 2nd wife. Julia grew up in Warren, Marion, Missouri. She taught school for a little while. She came to Sacramento by Train all by herself to work for the Chesley Family around 1889. Julia married Charles Richard Gregory on 7 Feb 1890, and had 6 children. (3 died very young), and the youngest, Julian is my Grandfather. 2 children, Charles Richard Jr. and Julia Frances were buried in Sacramento. CRG Jr in the City Cemetery, in the "Tiers" which were reclaimed, and JFG in New Helvetia Cemetery. New Helvetia Cemetery flooded and Graves were removed and reburied in City Cemetery. Both graves sadly have been lost. William Smith was buried in Mountain View Cemetery near Berkley in Alameda Co. California, in the Unendowed Section with no stone. Anna Dorothy oldest and first child, is buried with her husband in Golden Gate National Cemetery. Julian is buried by his wife Goldie C. Chamberlin in Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem, Marion Co. Oregon. Carmen Gregory Chambers Cox the youngest daughter was cremated and buried with her mother Julia. Julia and Charlie were divorced. Julia was a hard worker. As a cook in a Lumber Camp she met Andrew B McNitt. They were married and moved the Family (AB McNitt, Julia Rose McNitt, Carmen Gregory and Julian Gregory) to Marshfield, Coos County, Oregon. From there to 2-Mile at Bandon, Oregon. The house they lived in was built by them, with timber cut from their land.
