PAMPA - Robert Maxie Provence, 98, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in East Bridgeport Cemetery in Bridgeport with the Rev. Gary Sessions, pastor of the Twin Oaks Assembly of God of Bridgeport, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Provence was a longtime cowboy, commercial fisherman and was also a restaurant cook. He was a veteran of the Army.

Survivors include two daughters, Bobbie Green of Pampa and Bettie Coffer of Fort Worth; a brother, Donald Ray Provence of Bridgeport; a sister, Ella Rea Riggs of Fort Worth; three grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Carpenter's Church, P.O. Box 1832, Pampa, TX 79066-1832.

Provence died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, in Amarillo.

Born May 3, 1906, in Cottondale, he moved to Pampa from Bridgeport in 1993. He was a longtime cowboy, a commercial fisherman and a restaurant cook. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Dove Pittman; a grandson, Billy Leon Pittman; four brothers and one sister.

He is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Green of Pampa and Bettie Coffer of Fort Worth; a brother, Donald Ray Provence of Bridgeport; a sister, Ella Rea Riggs of Fort Worth; three grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be made to Carpenter's Church, P.O. Box 1832, Pampa, Texas 79066-1832.
