Mr. Donald L. Bigsby, 83, retired furniture company executive, died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at North Mississippi Medical Center.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.

He served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Gaston Baptist Church in Booneville, Mississippi. He was a former employee of General Motors Corporation, Jordan Industries and American Seating Company which took him to Booneville to make his home.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Adams Bigsby of Booneville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pattie B. and Charles Blackburn of Columbia, Lisa and Tom Gordon of Centerville; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry Wayne and Janet Peay of Bethpage; a sister and brother-in-law, Alma and Don Barr of Muir, Mississippi; two brothers, Claude Bigsby, Jr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Jack L. Bigsby of Fort Worth, Texas; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Edith Dreger Bigsby; his first wife, Vivian Way Bigsby and a son, Robert L. Bigsby.

Pallbearers are Anthony Blackburn, Terry Peay, Mike Stacy, Charlie Blackburn, Tom Gordon and Rob Bigsby.
