Asheville – Dennis "Bid" Meadows, 81, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.
Mr. Meadows was a native of Buncombe County. He retired in 1996 from the Grove Park Inn, was a member of Union Baptist Church and a former member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Mr. Meadows was a son of the late Leroy and Mary Messer Meadows and the husband of Tilda Janice Wallen Meadows who died February 10, 2009. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Surviving are his daughter, Helen Dielmann (Henry); sons, Arthur Lee Meadows (Deborah) and James Glenn Meadows (Wanda); 16 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 1 GG Granddaughter; sister, Allie Frost of Rockford, IL; brothers, Clinton Meadows and Charlie Franklin Meadows (Teresa) all of Asheville; brother-in-law, Hoey Reese of Candler.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at Union Baptist Church with Rev. David Clark officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
