In 1910, Val S. Stephenson, aged 7 months, was living on Jennings Avenue, Patchogue, Brookhaven, New York, in the home of his parents, James Stephenson, aged 41, a weaver in a factory, and Nettie M. Stephenson, aged 39, mother of 8 children, 7 living, with siblings, Martha L. Stephenson, aged 16, a laborer, Isabelle Stephenson, aged 15, a laborer, Adeline Stephenson, aged 13, Colles Stephenson, aged 8, and Anna Stephenson, aged 4, and widowed grandfather, Edwin H. Coles, aged 70, retired. The census was enumerated on April 30, 1910.

In 1915, Val Stevenson, aged 5, was living in the home of his widowed father, James, a lunch room proprietor, on Jennings Avenue, Patchogue, with siblings, Adeline, Cowles, and Anna Stevenson.

In 1920, Valentine, aged 9, could be found living in the home of his father, James Stevenson, and stepmother, Lyda Stevenson, on Ocean Avenue, Patchogue, NY. In 1940, Valentine S. Stevenson, aged 31, a parcel delivery messenger, was living at 45 Laurel St., Brookhaven, New York, in the home of his brother-in-law, Edmund W. Denison, aged 34, an agent for an insurance company, and sister, Anne J. Denison, aged 34, and their children, Carol Anne Denison, aged 4, and William E. Denison, aged 11 months.

In 1950, Valentine Stevenson, aged 39, never married, was living at the Central Islip State Hospital, Central Islip, New York.

Obituary - Valentine S. Stevenson, 55, of 43 East Lakewood Street, Patchogue, died last Thursday. Born in Patchogue, he was a life resident here. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Martha Weeks, and Mrs. Anne Denison, both of Patchogue. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Ruland Funeral Home, the Rev. Elwyn B. Chaney, interim pastor of the Patchogue Congregational Church, officiating. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue.
