Albert "Gus" Millage, 68, Bettendorf, died Monday, July 10, 1995, at home.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park, with military rites conducted by Davenport American Legion Post 26, where he was a member for 38 years.
Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
Mr. Millage was born Oct. 4, 1926, in Davenport, the son of Charles S. and Mary Trendell Millage. He married Marlynd Coffman Jan. 17, 1948, in Davenport.
He was co-owner and co-founder of Du-All Press, Davenport, with Stanley Buckles.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, having served in the South Pacific.
He played fast-pitch softball for several teams for 25 years. He played for the state champion Powers Softball Team in 1957 and 1958. He was also a player/coach for Pete's Midwest Team, which won the State Championship in 1964 placing 4th in the World Tournament that fall. He also coached several Little League Baseball teams in Davenport and Bettendorf, and was the first coach of the Bettendorf Colt League Team.
He was an avid bowler for 30 years, but his favorite sport was golf. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes.
Survivors include the widow; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ken Feddersen; sons, Russell Millage, David Millage, and Bruce Millage; grandchildren, Jason, Jill and Erica; sisters, Beulah Lewandowski and Peg Wood, all of Bettendorf; and brothers, Charles Millage, Oxnard, Calif., and Richard Millage, Davenport.
