Anthony H. Nibbelink was born December 22, 1874, at Baldwin, Wisconsin, son of Bernard and Magdeline (VanOurkirk) Nibbelink. He attended schools at Baldwin, Milwaukee, and River Falls, Wisconsin. At the completion of his education, he taught rural schools two years near Baldwin. His newspaper career began with the St. Paul Pioneer Press. After two years in St. Paul, he went to Morton, Minnesota, where he was employed at the local weekly newspaper. In August 1899, he arrived in Boyd, Minnesota, to edit and publish the Boyd Bulletin. He served this community with this publication for 55 years, until his retirement in January, 1954. He passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, Sunday, December 26, 1954, at the age of 80 years and four days.

On December 3, 1901, he was united in marriage to Mathilde Quaal of Ten Mile Lake Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. To this union were born three children: Ann (Mrs. L.O. Agre) of Boyd, and twin sons, Preston of Lily, South Dakota, and Arion of Arlington, Virginia.

Preceding him in death are his wife, who died on January 19, 1954, a brother, two sisters, and a great granddaughter.

He is survived by his three children; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Voskull and Mrs. Gertrude Quaal of Baldwin, Wisconsin; two brothers, Isaac of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Benjamin of Superior, Wisconsin; and three grandchildren: Lois Ann of Boyd, William of Lily, South Dakota, and Mark of Arlington, Virginia.
