E. D. Plessinger Dies At Achilles
ACHILLES -- Elijah Darlington Plessinger, 67, died at his home Wednesday. He was a retired member of the James River Reserve Fleet.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Plessinger of Achilles; eight daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Clemmer and Mrs. Lloyd Dettweiltes, both of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Carlos Moore of Newport News, Mrs. Samuel Rittenhouse of Minnneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Gary Miller of Hampton, Miss Dorothy Plessinger and Miss Nancy Plessinger, both of Achilles; five sons, Delbert Plessinger of Dare, Howard Plessinger of Hampton, Victor Plessinger of Worcester, Ohio, William Plessinger and Francis Plessinger of Achilles; one brother, Upton Plessinger of Fallen Timber, Pa., and 29 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Warwick River Mennonite Church, conducted by the Rev. Lloyd Weaver Jr., pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from the Hogg Funeral Home and placed in the church one hour before the services.

Pallbearers for Elijah Darlington Plessinger, 67, of Achilles, formerly of Newport News, will be the Rev. Wilbur Smoker, A. E. Ravenscroft, Fred Slaybough, George Seburn and Francis Seburn.
He died at his home Wednesday of a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Warwick River Mennonite Church, conducted by the Rev. Lloyd Weaver Jr., pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from the Hogg Funeral Home and placed in the church one hour before the services.
