Stanley married Lela Fae Brooks in December, 1993.
His survivors include his wife, Lela Fae, of the home in Warrenton, Missouri; step-sons, Donald Atchison and wife, Donna, of St. Peters, Missouri and Stanley Atchison and wife, Judy, of Warrenton, Missouri; his sister, Mary Ryker and family of Olney, Illinois and sister-in-law, Hilda Babb and family of Duke, Missouri; a host of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; extended family members and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter and Nellie; sister, Margaret Babb; brother, Jackie Babb; two infant brothers; and step-son, Michael Atchison.
Before entering the Army, he worked in the St. Clair, Missouri area. He served in the U.S. Army from August 1, 1946 to April 25, 1949. He was stationed in Japan and during that time he would send money home to his mother, one time to help her buy milk cows and a bicycle for his sister, Mary. After returning from the service he worked as a security guard and also had a delivery route for a dairy company in St. Louis. After retiring, and returning to Salem, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially, fishing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
