Donald D. Reed, 80, of 11898 S. 600 E., North Manchester, Indiana, died Monday, September 6, 2004 at 3:10 pm at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. He married Betty Jane Payne on November 24, 1955; she died December 28, 1985.
He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and retired in 1986 from Manchester Foundry.
He is survived by a son, James Reed of North Manchester; two daughters, Christine (Dean) Rhoades of Pierceton, Katherine (Gary Domenico of Claypool; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three brothers, Harold (Lucille) Reed and Delbert Reed, both of North Manchester, and Glen (Bonnie) Reed of Wabash; and two sisters, Rosie Camp of Wabash and Carol (John) Fike of Florida. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel of North Manchester on Friday, September 10, at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, September 9, from 4-8pm. Preferred memorials are to Riley Hospital for Children of Indianapolis.
