Martha A. Jones
BUHL- Martha A. Jones 91. of Buhl.
died Monday, Sept. 24,1990, at Harral's
Nursing Home in Buhl of natural causes.
She was born Nov. 28,1898, in Waukegan,
Illionis, the daughter of Lewis and Cynthia
Converse Conway. She moved with her family
at an early age to Idaho and spent her childhood
in Three Creek. She attended school in Three Creek
and Bruneau. She graduated from Boise High School
on 1918 and attended Albion State Normal School.
She later taught school at Grassy Hill and Fairview
and married Ruben W. Jones on Dec. 30,1920 in
Twin Falls. Together they farmed and worked for
Jim Pence during the winter. They then moved to
Filer in1948 and he died in 1952. She then spent
several winters in Arizona to be near her daughter,
Doris. She later moved to Lincoln Courts in Buhl in
1975 and lived there until moving to Harral Nusing
Home two months ago. Jones was a member of the
Filer United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruby Schroeder of Buhl
and Doris Robison of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one brother,
Paul Conway of Jerome; five grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death
by one sister and two brothers.
The funeral will be at 11a.m. Thursday at St. John's
Lutheran Church in Buhl, with the Rev. Robert Mertz
officiating. Burial will follow at the West End Cemetery
in Buhl. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today
at the Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl. Memorials are
suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church Children's
Sunday School and will be accepted at the church by
Al Daiss and Del Wuebbenhorst.
