Mary Pauline Watts of Hamilton, died January 25, 1984 in Eureka. She was 63.
Mrs. Watts was born September 6, 1920 near Athensville, Ill., the daughter of Lester Edward and Nita Mae Hunter Grider. She came to the Strong City area at the age of 14 and in 1937 moved to a farm near Madison. On June 18, 1938, she married Norman P. Watts in Virgil.
Mrs. Watts briefly attended Madison high school in the late 1930's and in 1971 graduated from Hamilton High School.
For six years Mrs. Watts a homemaker, was a cooking instructio for the 4-H club in the Hamilton area.
Mrs. Watts attended the Hamilton Baptist Church for many years.
Surviving Mrs. Watts are husband, Norman, of the home; three sons, Daniel D. and Tony G., both of Madison; and Galen T., of Emporial three daughters, Patricia K. Hays of Madison, Leta Ellen Harrell of Hamilton, and Jacqulin Lea Pierce, Dorrance; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and four nephews, seven nieces, three step grandson, two step granddaughters, two step great-grandson, a step great-granddaughter and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by a step grandson.
Funeral service was held the afternoon of January 30, 1984 at the Hamilton Baptist Church. The Rev. Doyle Ross and the Rev. Keith Morrow officiated. Interment was in Watts Haven Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
