Fisher, Jane R. Bowne Peacefully Entered Eternal Life on February 25, 2010, at the age of 92. Resident of Alexian Village, formerly of Ottumwa, Iowa and Harlingen, TX. Beloved wife of the late Karl Fisher and, formerly, Benjamine Bowne. Loving mother of Martha Jane (Jerome) Seinitz, Mary Ann (Daniel) Switzer, Beatrice "Peggy" ( Weston) Stucky, and John (Kathy) Bowne. Proud grandmother of Laura (William) Kasbeer, Linda (John) Murbach, David (Miki) Geras, Cynthia Geras, Darcy (Mark) Luling, Todd (Tracy) Switzer, Matthew (Kandi) Stucky, the late Jennifer Stucky, Dale (Trudy) Bowne and Nikki Bowne. Jane lived an interesting and varied life: for many years she and her husband, Benjamine Bowne, operated a large farm in southeast Iowa where, among other things, they bred and showed purebred Aberdeen Angus cattle. Jane loved farm life; she raised hybrid tea roses, was a 4H leader for many years and was active in the farming community. A number of years later Jane married Karl Fisher and they lived in Hedrick, IA, near Ottumwa and then retired to Harlingen,TX. She and Karl moved to Alexian Village in Milwaukee in early 2002, Karl died a year later and Jane has continued to live there until her death. She had many friends among the residents and staff and enjoyed playing bridge, sewing for charity, attending concerts and caring for Patches, her cat. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010, from 2 to 3 PM, at Alexian Village, Chapel of the Holy Spirit (76th Street and Brown Deer Road ½ mile north), followed by a brief service honoring Jane's life at 3 PM.
