She attended elementary school IPS 75 and graduated from Manual High School in 1930.
Churches:
She attended Westside Church of the Nazarene at 11th & King Avenue during childhood and through adulthood until 1969. She served at Westside as Board Member, Sunday School teacher, charge of the youth program, sang in the choir, was at times in charge of the sunrise service, played piano for Sunday school and for the youth.
She attended Eastside Church of the Nazarene at 16th and Gladstone from 1969 - 1976.
Employment:
Star Store on West Washington street. Later she took in washings and ironings so she could stay home and take care of her daughters. She also took care of numerous foster children. Sang for funerals & special occasions which also helped to make ends meet financially.
In 1969 she moved in with and helped take care of her five grandchildren and did so until 1975.
She then moved in with an elderly couple by the name of Roe. She was their caregiver for a few months. She then moved to Tennessee in 1975 and worked at the Nashville Union Rescue Mission until retirement. She was known as Miss Goldie. She managed the women's building. She counseled the women and admitted them into the mission and help them with spiritual, family, physical, and career needs.
After retirement she moved in with daughter Charlotte where she resided until 4/1/2000 @ 12:30 a.m. where she went on to live with her Lord and Savior.
