Lillian was the tenth child of twelve born to William Steers Peek and Elizabeth Thompson. She was born in Washington, Boone County, Indiana.

Lillian married Charles Wilcox Tipton on December 14, 1892 in Coffey County, Kansas. They had one child during their marriage, Horace Leonard Tipton, on March 11, 1894. Horace was Lillian's only child. He married Ida Vivian Davis on June 14, 1936. Ida had one daughter from a previous marriage and Horace and Ida adopted a son Charles. Charles married Nellie Tallie Sealy on August 21, 1901 in Houston, Texas. Charles died on February 18,1937 in Houston, Texas.

Lillian was married three times after her marriage to Charles: September 1901 she married Nelson F. Holmes; March 1913 she married Walter Tallman; and her last marriage was on December 7, 1915 to Arthur Watson McConnell (1862-1923). Arthur is interred in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, Kansas.

Lillian is interred in Memorial Park Cemetery. She does not have a gravestone. Cemetery records indicate an interment date of December 10, 1951 in Section 2, Plot 2, Space 14, Burial Number 3936.
