Chico Record, Wednesday Morning, January 22, 1919, pg 4 col 5:

Marion Case Is Dead After Extended Illness. Marion Case, well known Chico resident, died at his home, Third and Ivy streets, last night at 9:45, following a four-year illness.

He was sixty-four years old, a native of San Bernardino, Cal., and son of one of the earliest pioneer families of that section, which settled in San Bernardino county in 1848.

Himself a pioneer, Case spent his early boyhood in watching the development of his native city. In 1900, after living in different parts of the state, Case settled in Chico, and he had lived here since. His health had been failing for the past eleven years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. M. Frances Case of Chico; two daughters, Mrs. Lillian R. Duncan of Oroville and Mrs. M. Elizabeth Castlehun of San Francisco, and two sons, Arthur L. Case of Sacrament and Byron W. Case of Watsonville.

Private funeral services will be held from the family home, 305 Ivy street, Thursday at 10:30 a.m., Dr. E.A. Osborn officiating. The remains will be sent to Redding Thursday afternoon for interment.
