Perry E. Powell,60, formerly employed as a fireman at the Lincoln theater, died at 3:30 pm Friday in Bloomington where he was employed as a fireman in the Brokaw hospital. Funeral services will be at 1 pm Monday in the J. J. Moran & Son funeral home where friends may call after 10 am Sunday. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Mr.Powell was born near Marion July 18, 1888 and was married to Jennie Kemp there. He came to Decatur in 1927 and was employed at the Macon county Coal Co and later at the Lincoln theater for 12 years. He went to Bloomington four months ago. He was a member of the Pentecostal church.
Besides his wife, Mr. Powell leaves five sons, William, Frank, Perry Jr, and Richard, all of Decatur and Carl of St. Louis. There are two brothers, Elmer of Alma and William of Stonington, two sisters, Mrs.Maggie Phelps and Mattie White, both of Bloomington and seven grandchildren.
