"LEONARDSVILLE - Mrs. Irving A. Crandall, whose late husband conducted a store here for more than fifty years, died at her home in this village, October 21st. Algerose L. Higley, daughter of John and Elizabeth Burdick Higley, was born at Stafford's Hollow, January 7, 1850, and spent her childhood at Scott. Her father died when she was young and she lived as a girl with her aunt, the wife of Dr. Silas Bailey. On April 25, 1870, she was married to Irving A. Crandall. Seven years later the couple became members of the First Brookfield Seventh Day Baptist church of which Elder Stephen Burdick was the pastor ... Mr. Crandall died August 25, 1933. There survive four chidren: Elva, wife of E. S. Champlin, Mabel, wife of O. B. Whitford of Plainfield, N.J.; Blanche, wife of Charles Cumberson of West Winfield; Ralph, Alhambra, Calif., and several grandchildren."
