Elizabeth J. "Betty" Miller, 88, of Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg died at the Village on Thursday, October 1, 2009.
Prior to becoming a full time homemaker, she had worked for the State of Pennsylvania Department of Unemployment. She was a member of Lewisberry United Methodist Church and previously St. John's United Church of Christ in Harrisburg. She was a member of Highland Women's Club, Cumberland Garden Club, and Christian Women's Club. She enjoyed reading and especially loved spending time and devoting herself to her grandchildren.
She was born November 17, 1920 in Chinchilla, PA to the late John Reginald and Gladys Mae (Jenkin) Watkins. She was the widow of Samuel C. Miller, Jr.
She is survived by four children, Samuel C. Miller, III of Alexandria, VA, Linda Wagner, Debra Latsha, and John R. Miller, all of Lewisberry; a brother, John Reginald Watkins of Binghamton, NY; and four grandchildren: Allison Wagner, Adrienne Wagner, Emily Miller, and Lance Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday at Lewisberry United Methodist Church. Viewings will be from 6-8pm Monday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland and 9: 30-10am Tuesday at the church.
