Mrs. George Hockensmith
Mrs. Kathleen Groft Hockensmith, 68, wife of George Hockensmith, New Oxford R. 1, died Friday at 11:25 a.m. at Hanover General Hospital where she had been a patient since Monday.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica, Edge Grove and of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three children,, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and these brothers and sisters; Joseph Groft, McSherrystown. and Mrs. Genevieve Klunk, Charles Groft and Mrs. Claudine Lawrence, all of New Oxford R.1.
The funeral service will be held Monday morning with a meeting at the Walter Funeral Home, McSherrystown at 8:30 to go to Sacred Heart Basilica for the requiem Mass at 9 o'clock. Her pastor, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas J. McGough, will be celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in McSherrystown Sunday after 2 p.m. The Rosary will be recited there Sunday at 8 p.m.
