Richard A. App, of Fort Collins, went to his heavenly home on October 8, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 25, 1936, in Elgin, IL, the son of Asa and Bernadine App. He was a veteran, in which he took much pride. He loved music and he played the trombone in the Loveland Concert Band and he was also an excellent pianist. He greatly enjoyed hiking, fly fishing, skiing, and golfing.He is survived by his wife Hanna, one daughter Ruth Lueck of Elgin, IL; two sons, Alann (Mare) App of Lakewood, CO and Rick App of Superior, CO; and 2 grandchildren, Brian and Leanne Lueck also of Elgin, IL; two brothers: Robert (Donna) App and David (Sandy) App; two sisters: Ruth (Kenneth) Bartlett and Bernadine App.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Eleanor Leonard.Memorial services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, October 17, 2008 at Allnutt Drake Chapel.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Richard's memory to Poudre Valley Hospital (Oncology) or Hospice of Larimer County in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W.
