PAUL BERTLER DIES OF HEART AILMENT HERE
Was Stricken Saturday at English Lake; Dies At The Hospital
Stricken with dilation of the heart as he spent a social hour Saturday
evening with a friend at English Lake, Paul S. Bertler, 25, was rushed to
a physician's office here and later to the Holy Family hospital where he
died at 5 a.m. Sunday.
Death of Mr. Bertler was a severe shock to his parents and sisters. Since
graduation from Lincoln high school in the class of 1929, he had been
assisting his father, John Bertler, in the operation of the latter's brick-
yard.
Born in Manitowoc in 1908, the deceased attended the north side schools and
later entered the high school. During his later school years he was a member
of various athletic teams but at that time he suffered from heart attacks
and was compelled to give up strenous exercising. He had not complained of
feeling ill when he left home Saturday evening for a few hours.
Survivors are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bertler, 820 North Sixth street
and two sisters, Mrs. John Musiel, city and Miss Eleanor, at home.
Funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and at
9 a.m. from Sacred Heart church. Interment will be at Evergreen. The remains
were removed to the home this afternoon from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei
funeral home where they may be viewed up to the hour of the funeral.
