EMILY BERTLER
Mrs. John Bertler, 76 (above) of 820 North Sixth St., Manitowoc, died Friday
night at the home, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. L. M. Schorn will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Emily Krause in Kewaunee County in 1877 and later her parents
moved to Manitowoc. She was married to John Bertler, retired brick manufacturing
executive. In 1901 the couple observed their golden wedding in 1951. Mrs. Bertler
was a member of the Altar Society of the Sacred Heart congregation.
Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. John Musial and Miss Eleanor of
Manitowoc; brother, William Krause of Green Bay; three sisters, Mrs. Amanda Hein
of Racine, Mrs. William Jorsch of Duluth, Minn., and Mrs. Helene Ullmann of
Mishicot.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after Monday
noon, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
