Francis W. Bersch, 73, of 401 N. Sixth St., died Monday evening at his home
following a coronary attack.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home
and 9:30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Claude LeClair
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, with military
graveside rites by the American Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88. Mr. Bersch was
born Sept. 12, 1893 at Winneconne, son of the late Christopher and Sophia Paulson
Bersch. He married Olive Sauer April 7, 1956, at Cedarburg.
He was employed as a car salesman at Theinsville and resided at Manitowoc after
retiring in 1957.
A veteran of World War I, Mr. Bersch served as a machinist’s mate second class
in the Navy from June 24 to Dec. 23, 1918. He was a member of the Holy Name
Society of Sacred Heart Church, the Sea Gulls and Drew-Bleser Post.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where the Rosary
will be recited at 8 p.m.
