Chester C. Berge, 82, of 731 S. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning at
Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Edmund E. Olson will officiate and burial in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Berge was born Oct. 12, 1892, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Knut
and Mary Larson Berge. He married Lydia Rusch June 14, 1917, in the Town of
Liberty and farmed in the Valders area until 1944 when they moved to Manitowoc.
He was employed at Invincible Metal Furniture Co. from 1944 until his retirement
in 1958. Mrs. Berge preceded him in death Feb. 2, 1969. He was a member of St.
Paul Lutheran Church and Manitowoc Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a son, Milton, of Greendale; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Iola)
Pridonoff, of Santa Anna, Calif.; a brother, Morton, of Manitowoc; two sisters,
Mrs. Olga Hacker, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Joe (Edna) Elsasser, of Waukegan, Ill.;
three grandchildren, Lee Berge, of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Susan Burer, of Cleveland,
Ohio, and Tom Pridonoff, of Santa Anna and a great granddaughter, Christy Lee
Berge, of Dayton. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Ninth Street Chapel, from 5
to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from noon Wednesday until the time of service.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Miss Lydia Rusch was united in marriage to Chester Berge at the German Lutheran
Church last Thursday afternoon. Following the ceremony a reception was held at
the bride's home. Many relatives and friends were present. Their many friends
wish them much joy on their journey through life together.
