WALTER G. BERG
Walter G. Berg, 90, formerly of 2110 N. 8th Street, Manitowoc, died Thursday
morning, February 20 at Manitowoc Health Care Center. Funeral services will
be 11 am Monday at Reinbold and Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home. Rev.
Richard C. Miller will officiate with interment at Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Berg was born June 17, 1895 at Chicago, Illinois, son of the late George
and Mary Arnemann Berg. He married the former Erma B. Schultz on June 21, 1924
at Two Rivers. The couple moved to Manitowoc in 1930. The couple was engaged
in dairy farming until their retirement. Mr. Berg was also employed at Manitowoc
Shipbuilding from 1942-1949. He is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Erma of Manitowoc; a son and a daughter-in-law,
George C. and Joanne E. Berg of Madison and two granddaughters, Janet and
Jennifer, both of Madison. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nora Pagenkopf
in 1956.
Friends may call at Reinbold and Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, from
2 pm to 4 pm Sunday afternoon and Monday until the hour of service at the
funeral home. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
