HERBERT H. BELBECK

Herbert H. Belbeck, 52, 1030 North 13th street, a veteran of World War I, died
Tuesday at the Veterans hospital, Milwaukee, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. from the Wattawa, Urbanek and
Schlei funeral home and at nine o’clock from the Holy Innocents church, the Rev.
E. A. Radey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Belbeck was born at Holcolmbe, Wis. In 1891 and enlisted in World War I. He
was a fireman, first class, on the U.S. battleship Mississippi and made 16
crossings of the Atlantic during the war.
Twenty-one years ago he married Miss Gladys Price at Cornell, Wis., where they
resided for five years. Sixteen years ago they came to this city. Mr. Belbeck has
been employed at the Manitowoc Portland Cement company.
Survivors are the widow; a son, John, of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond
Fish of Norwich, Conn., Joan and Kay of this city, four brothers, Frank of
Minnesota, John, of Virginia, William and George of Cornell; three sisters, Mrs.
Harrison Cox, of Sheldon, Wis., Mrs. Frank Griffin, of Minnesota, Mrs. John Nelson
of Seattle, Wash.
A military funeral will be accorded Mr. Belbeck Friday morning. The body may be
viewed tonight after seven o’clock at the funeral home.
