PNEUMONIA IS FATAL TO JOHN BEDORE
Former Chief Engineer of Wis. Public Service Corp. Here Die Last Night at Escanaba.
Friends in this city of John B. Bedore, 45, for eight years chief engineer of the
Wisconsin Public Service Corporation steam plant in this city, were shocked to
learn of his death last night of pneumonia, at the St. Francis Hospital at Escanaba,
Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Bedore and family removed to Escanaba from this city four years
ago, when Mr. Bedore accepted a position as chief engineer for the Escanaba Paper
Co. there. While residents here the family resided at 16__ New York Avenue.
Mr. Bedore was but 45 years of age. He was confined at the St. Vincent’s hospital
at Green Bay until Sept. 1, when he was discharged as cured. Later he was a patient
at the Pinecrest sanitarium at Powers, Mich., and was discharged as fully cured a
week ago. He was suddenly stricken with pneumonia and removed to the Escanaba hospital
from his home, 321 South Sixth street, Escanaba, and lung infection set in and he died
last night.
Leaves Widow; Five Daughters.
Besides his wife, Lila, he is survived by five daughters, Elaine and Betty, nine year
old twins, Bernice, Mrs. John Gafner of Lansing, Mich., and Mrs. Walter Georgenson of
this city.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed but it was expected that interment would
take place at Escanaba.

John Bedore, Who Died at Escanaba, Mich., To Be Buried Here
John Bedore, former chief engineer for the Wisconsin Public Service Corporation here,
who left the city four years ago, and who passed away Friday night at Escanaba, Mich.,
is to be buried in Manitowoc. The remains will arrive here from his Escanaba home
Tuesday evening on the 6 o’clock train and will be removed to the Wattawa, Urbanek and
Schlei chapel where they may be viewed. Funeral services will take place from the chapel
at 9 o’clock on Wednesday morning, with interment at Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Bedore had a large circle of friends here, who were shocked to learn of his demise.
He was but 45 years of age. He was at one time president of the Manitowoc branch of the
Engineers association. A widow and five daughters survive.
