Chester R. "Chet" Meschke, 80, of Morristown, died Thursday morning, Jan. 21, in Mesa, Ariz. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Morristown with the Rev. Timothy J. Blackman officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday in Gill Chapel, Morristown, and in the church on Monday one hour prior to
services.
Chester R. Meschke, son of Frank E. and Susan Mae Dean Meschke, was born Dec. 12, 1907, in Morristown. He married Evelyn M. Buscho Feb. 28, 1928. She preceded him in death Dec. 19, 1974. He married Catherine S. Welch on Jan. 17, 1976. He farmed in Morristown Township for a number of years and was also employed at Nutting Truck and Caster Co. for several years. He owned and operated Meschke's Shop, providing plumbing and heating service in the Morristown area.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; one son, Ronald C. Meschke of Minot, N.D.; one daughter, Mrs. James H. (Sharon Lee) Buscho of Morristown; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a step-son, Dick Welch of West Concord; four step-daughters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Lewis of Faribault,
Mrs. Stan (Diane) Johnson of Bloomington, Mrs. Dick (Helen) Steinhaus of Amboy, Ill., and Mrs. Gene (Ruth Ann) Burke of Portage, Ind.; and one brother, Loren Meschke of Faribault. He was also preceded in death by step-children, Marian and
Alice Welch.
