Russell McFall Benson, 80, Fulton, died Feb. 18, 2000, at the Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.

He was born June 8, 1919, in Williamsburg, a son of Marvin and Annie Love Benson. He was married March 17, 1950, in Fulton, to Helen Elizabeth Willett, who died April 4, 1998.

A veteran of the Coast Artillery during World War II, he and his brothers owned Benson Auto Shop. He was a member of IOOF Lodge and First Christian Church, Fulton.

Survivors include: one daughter, Bev Doward, Fulton; one brother, Charley Benson, Fulton; one sister, Audrey Redden, Fulton; three grandchildren, one step grandson, one step granddaughter and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Debo Funeral Chapel, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
