Calvin J. Burr, son of Frederick C. Burr (1849-1936) and Mary E Hager (1848-1900). Married Clara Mae Brownawell on Jan. 4, 1912 in Carlisle. Father to two children, Ralph E. Burr (1919-1919) and Sarah E. Burr (1923-1987). He was a farmer all his life, and loved his animals and the countryside around his farm which was up on Meeting House Springs Rd. west Carlisle, before the old Meeting House Springs cemetery. He was a true gentle ole soul and I remember going around the farm with him and his dog "Nancy" a collie and looking at the buildings and old implements, the old horse, the apple orchard and he still had the sparkle in his eye as he described the farm from years ago. My fondest memories as a child were my visits with him and daughter Sarah sitting in the rockers around the beautiful kitchen cook stove.
