Ernest L. "Ernie" Wright, age 70, of Wapello, died Monday, August 6, 1990, at Burlington Medical Center.

He was born October 11, 1919, at Columbus City, the son of Charles F. and Kate Orris Wright. He married Donna Wischmeier on September 6, 1946, at Columbus Junction.

Mr. Wright worked at D&P Lumber in Wapello for many years, retiring in 1985.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Wapello VFW. He also enjoyed fishing and bicycling and participating in the Friday night band at Oakville.

Surviviors include his wife, Donna; two daughters, Debra Lee Milstead, Glendale, Arizona, and Teryn Lun Wright of Washington, D.C.; and two
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lora Jean and Laurene; and two brothers, Charles and Leonard.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 9, at 2 p.m. at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with Rev. George Yetter officiating. Phyllis McCulley provided the music.

Casket bearers and honorary bearers included Fred Brown, Bob Pogemiller, Ralph Stone, Gaylord Elliot, Larry Bumgardner, Boyd Paxson, Don Westaway, Wayne McConahay, Maurice Lewis, and William L. Matthews. Burial followed at the
Wapello Cemetery.
