Charlie Franklin "C. F." Awbrey, 89, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully, July 26, 2012, at Hospice of Midland Inpatient unit. Charlie was born October 12, 1922, in Paducah, Texas, to Maud Galimore and Isah Awbrey. He married the love of his life, Treva Roberts on July 17, 1942. He served in the US Army during WW II. After his service he returned to Texas and took up residency in Midland, where he raised his family. Charlie was employed by The Superior Oil Company, from which he retired after 25 plus years. He enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren, fishing trips on the Rio Grande, and racing.

He is survived by his four children: Ronald Awbrey and his wife, Pat, Gale White and her husband, Buzzy, Ricky Awbrey and his wife, Susan, all of Midland, and Charlene Smith of Marlow, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren: Dana Labombard, Kerri Gryder, Shannon White, Haley Cotton, Chris White, Lorrie Rodriguez, Kelly Britton, Kasey Brown, Memory Awbrey, Quincy Smith, Scott Awbrey and Nathan Awbrey; 28 great grandchildren; and a few great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Treva Awbrey; his parents, Isah and Maud Awbrey; all of his siblings; one great grandson; and son-in-law, Steve Smith.

A celebration service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at Calvary Assembly of God Church, located at 908 S. Johnston, in Midland, Texas. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Danny Bisbee officiating. Pallbearers will be Shannon White, Chris White, Scott Awbrey, Nathan Awbrey, Kyle Cotton, and Matthew Awbrey. There will be a viewing on Sunday, July 29, 2012, from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m., with family visitation from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., at Thomas Funeral Home, located at 1502 N. Lamesa Rd., Midland, Texas. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in Charlies name to Hospice of Midland or the charity of your choice.
