CAMPBELL – Bobby Jo Hill, 17-year-old son of Mrs. And Mrs. W.O. Hill of Campbell, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday in a Houston hospital.

The Campbell youth died after a fight of several years against cancer.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Campbell with Rev. Bobby Renfro, Rev. Arthur Brooks and Rev. Neal Thornburgh officiating. Burial will be in Brigham Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 20, 1955, in Campbell.

A junior at Campbell High School, he had been an active student and athlete before losing a leg to the malignancy. While in school he was a top district basketball player and had received several school and club honors.

An active member of the Campbell Future Farmers of America Chapter, he had won numerous awards throughout the state for his cattle.

He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Campbell where he was active in many youth activities and served on the nominating committee.

In the past year, people in Campbell and other area cities rallied to help him in his fight. Several fund-raising events where held to help pay expenses for a series of treatments.

He is survived by his parents,; one brother, Mike Hill of Campbell; two sisters, Judy Hill of Campbell and Mrs. Donna Mayo of Greenville; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Durham of Greenville.

Pallbearers will be is classmates from the Campbell school, Nathan Smith, Mike Young, Lynn Morris, Brent Billingslea, Kenneth Baker, Grry Bitner, Mark Seale and Joey McIlveene and Hale Ogle.

Member of the senior class are honorary pallbearers.

CAMPBELL – Funeral services for Bobby Joe Hill, 17, who died Sunday, will be at 4 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church here. Burial will be in Brigham Cemetery with Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home in charge.

Hill, who was a junior at Campbell High School had been a patient at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston where he died. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Hill of Campbell.

Classmates will served (sic) as pallbearers.
