Funeral to be at Anderson
Mrs. Walter Steele who lived here until March dies at nephew's home
Mrs. Emma Steele, formerly of this city, died Thursday evening at the home of her nephew, Charles Smith, near Anderson, where she had been living since the death of her husband Walter Steele, last March.

The daughter of John and Susan Barnes Smith, she was born near Nashville, and was 70 years of age. She lived in Martinsville a number of years before moving to Anderson about 30 years ago. In 1939 Mr. and Mrs. Steele returned to Martinsville where they lived until Mr. Steel's death.

She is survived by a son by a previous marriage, George Lewis Hobbs, of Albuqurque, N.M., four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother George Smith, of Anderson, and several nieces and nephews, among whom are Mrs. Clyde Voyles and Mrs. John Cramer of this city.

Funeral services will be held at Anderson Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock with burial at Lapel.
